Countdown to Disney: Steps to Take Before Your Family Vacation to FloridaDisney is a magical experience that every family should enjoy at least once in their lives. It’s a big trip, though, so you want to make sure you are as prepared as possible. Here are some steps to take before your family vacation to Florida.
1. Set up your accommodations
I strongly encourage you to rent a vacation home near Disney in Florida. Not only is it a better bang for the buck, but you’ll have a better experience. There’s more space for your family to spread out and they often come with special amenities that you wouldn’t find in a hotel, like a private pool and full kitchen to cook your own meals (for more savings).
2. Pick the right trip dates
You’ll have to carefully consider the schedules of everyone who will be going on the trip with you. Most people go to Disney as a family so this might be challenging. Try to time your trip so no one misses school and make sure the working people on your trip have vacation time they can take. You’ll also want to consider how busy the park will be (slowest times are November, which is perfect because this is when it starts to cool down).
3. Pack everything you need
Disney is a large place with plenty of stores and shops to pick up things you might have forgotten, but like any theme park or attraction, you’ll pay a higher price. Be sure not to forget to bring your essential items like clothing, toiletries, and toys/games for the kids.
4. Get all the all-access pass
If you’ll be spending more than a couple days in the Disney parks, you’ll definitely want the all-access passes so you can come and go as you please. This will allow you to plan your trip around the attractions and shows you want to see rather than being stuck with the ones available at the time. For example, you can pop into Epcot to have lunch in Norway and then jump over to MGM to see the light show in the evening.
5. Make a daily plan
Before you even leave your home you should plan out your entire trip as much as you can (not down to the minute, though). Look at lists of all the restaurants and decide which you would like to visit. You can even make reservations months in advance! Take note of all your favorite shows and consider the weather so you can plan your days accordingly.
