Orlando Attractions for Adults

When you think Orlando, Florida, usually the first thing you think of is Disney World. And it’s true, Orlando is known for its child-friendly theme parks and attractions, but if you’re planning a trip for you and your friends, or your significant other, or maybe just yourself, don’t count out Orlando just yet! Take a look at these five awesome, must-see venues if you head to Orlando as an 18+ adult.

Attraction #1: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Yes, that is the number one attraction and it is imperative that you go. What’s unique about this attraction is that there are two theme parks, one at Universal Studios Florida and and another at Universal's Islands of Adventure. This magnificent experience creates a world that allows you to become part of it. Adults in their 20s and 30s grew up waiting in lines for the midnight releases of each installment of J.K. Rowling’s epic saga. I can say it would be a childhood dream come true to visit this world. And the best part is that this generation also has an appreciation the wizarding boy, so in case you have the kiddos with you, it’s a great excuse to fulfill your childhood fantasy as well. I don’t know about you, but I am still waiting for my acceptance letter from Hogwarts.

Attraction #2: La Nouba - Cirque du Soleil

Talk about some captivating and alluring entertainment! La Nouba is a fascinating avant-garde circus performed by Cirque du Soleil. Even if you have attended a Cirque du Soleil show before, this one is one of a kind. This performance can only be seen at Disney Springs. The show boasts worldly cast of acrobats, athletes and other performance artists complete with vibrant and vivid costumes and live music. The program has thousands of five-star reviews, including that there are “no bad seats in the theatre, perfection from every angle” and “funny, jaw-dropping, and inspiring. This multicultural show is a perfect part of an adult night out.

Attraction #3: ‘Round the World Bar Crawl

This epic Epcot bar crawl adventure is the best way to visit 11 countries in one night. Also known as the Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, Epcot was the second theme park that Walt Disney opened. Epcot is extraordinarily different from all the other theme parks in Orlando, Florida, so as an adult you will be able to truly appreciate all that it has to offer. Epcot’s World Showcase features 11 different countries, each one a culturally intense experience! You can scout out the shops and sample the cuisine, but as a grown-up, grab your friends and turn a simple night out at the bars into a fun-filled drinking experience and a trip around the world.

Attraction #4: Spa day!

Just because you’re in Orlando, Florida does not mean you have to spend every day in theme parks, night cruises, and restaurant dinners. It’s okay to spend an afternoon getting some R&R. It’s time to break open that piggy bank and treat yourself to a posh, upscale spa, complete with a manicure, pedicure, and most important, a massage. You can use the extra money you saved by renting an affordable vacation home in Orlando and put it towards your time here. You can even bring your significant other to the resort so he can golf while you get pampered.

Attraction #5: Orlando Magic Basketball

Tonight, skip the Magic Kingdom and take in a NBA game. Even if you are not a big basketball fan, or even sports for that matter, like myself, the spirit, intensity, and atmosphere of a National Basketball Association game will turn anyone into a fan, truly. With alum like Shaquille O’Neal, the Orlando magic team just hit its 25th anniversary and is ready to make your night magical!

With this list of adult-friendly and adult-approved excursions, you’re sure to make everyone in your group happy. There is a little something for everyone and it will make you realize that Orlando, Florida is more than just Disney World, more than long lines, fancy rides, and expensive admissions.
