8 Reasons You Need to Visit Animal Kingdom at DisneyBefore you rush out of your vacation home rental in Orlando, Florida near Disney, you need to know which park you’ll visit. There are four main Disney parks. If you haven’t yet, make sure to check out Animal Kingdom. Here’s why…

1. Kilimanjaro Safaris is more than a zoo
“Zoo” doesn’t even begin to describe this safari. Once you board the oversized jeep, you’ll take a 20 minute ride through a real African setting. Your driver will point out animals and give you facts about each. You’ll even see lions, giraffes, and wildebeests. If you’re lucky, some of the animals will come right up to the jeep for close observation (but don’t touch).
2. You’ll meet unique cast members
Unlike other parks where, Animal Kingdom cast members are dressed like traditional African and Asian cultures. They’ll tell you about their “lives,” and the lives of people who live in their regions. Their name tags will tell you where they are “from.” Most are animal experts!

3. Check out some awesome shows
Like all Disney parks, there is a show happening at any time. Checkout the Festival of the Lion King, and the Finding Nemo musical. Plus you’ll see street performers all over the park.
4. The Tree of Life is a technological marvel
This massive structure is so large that it was built over a decommission oil platform. It moves, speaks and even sings to you! Thousands of faces carved all over the tree come to life each day. It’s a great family photo spot. Also, inside is a 3D movie.

5. The detail is unbelievable
Like anything Disney does, the detail is incredible. Check out the villages of Harambe and Anandapur, which depict real African and Asian life, right down to the ruined buildings.
6. The Oasis makes the perfect gateway
As you enter Animal Kingdom, you’ll pass through the Oasis, a hub of the park with shopping and food (just like Main Street USA in Magic Kingdom). Take your time to explore this area, because wild animals make this place their home.
7. Thrill-seekers love it
You wouldn’t think a zoo would have many thrill rides, but Animal Kingdom has several. Make sure to try out Expedition Everest (a roller coaster), Dinosaur (a thrilling dinosaur exploration), and Kali River Rapids (a family-style boat ride with plenty of rapids).
